Broomfield Days Parade

Every year Broomfield has a special day to celebrate the city called Broomfield Days. The event starts with Bingo on Friday night. Then on Saturday morning we have a huge parade followed by a big event were local vendors, businesses, etc host booths. They have raffles, product information, food, rides, etc. The pictures above are from the parade. Jael's school marched in the parade. Her school is the Birch Bulldogs. The school's rules are called PAWS. It is an acronym they use to help the kids remember the rules. Jael walked in the parade with her ESL teacher who goes to our church as well. She has been great with Jael. The principal would shout, "Who let the DOGS out?" and the kids would respond, "Birch, Birch, Birch". Well after all they are the Bulldogs. It was really funny. Jael had a blast marching in her first parade ever. She looks forward to next year when she will be able to march with Ting li. It was your typical parade except in Colorado you get to see the Mexican's Marching and they go all out. I didn't get pictures but lets just say the horses they were riding were even dancing. You don't get to see that in NY. It was truly amazing. We had to leave the parade early for Jael's soccer game but we went back to the festival afterwards..well Jael and I did. Brian is not much of a festival guy. We managed to walk the whole festival and not purchase anything which was great! Frankly Jael was really bored until we found the DOG section. Yes...Colorado loves dogs and so does Jael! Many of you know that she will talk for hours about dogs. Well Dock Dogs was there and they had an all day event set up. People paid to enter their dogs in the events. There was a huge pool set up with a huge ruler along the side of the pool. They had contests for dogs that could jump the farthest, highest, etc. Well Jael was in heaven because almost every dog was a Lab or Golden Retriever. So I guess if you asked Jael what the highlight of her weekend was she would say Dock Dogs at Broomfield Days..lol
